Arriving from Vienna
Take the Westautobahn A1 motorway to the St. Pölten Süd (south) exit
Then
continue along the B20 (Mariazeller federal highway) for 76 km (47.2 miles)
towards the south,
either passing Annaberg and Josefsberg or taking a left
in Freiland from the B20 to the B21 and passing Hohenberg and St. Aegyd, coming
through the Halltal valley to Mariazell (well posted with signs).
Option:
motorway Südautobahn A2 and S6 Semmering express highway to Mürzzuschlag,
then passing Neuberg and Mürzsteg on the B21 to Mariazell.
Arriving from Salzburg
Take the motorway Westautobahn A1 to the Ybbs exit.Then continue along the federal highway B25
till Scheibbs, from that point there are two possibilities: either take the
federal highway B28 via Wastl am Wald to the federal highway B20, passing
Annaberg and Josefsberg or continue along the federal highway B25 on to
Grubberg and take the federal highway B71 across the newly finished Zellerrain.
Arriving from Graz
Take the motorway A9 Phyrnautobahn to the north, then continue along the Bruck
express highway S35 and the S6 Semmering express highway to the Kapfenberg
exit.From there take the B20
(Mariazeller federal highway) 49 km (30.5 miles) to the north (follow the
signposts). Option: Take the express highway S6 to the St. Marein
exit and continue via Pogusch to Turnau.After the town of Au continue along the federal highway B20 to
Mariazell.
Important information
In the entire city center of Mariazell short-term parking is free of charge for
a time limit of 90 minutes.This limit
is enforced.The short-term parking
limit is valid on workdays from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 2:
00 pm – 6:00 pm and on Saturdays from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm On the outskirts of Mariazell there are numerous
parking lots available:
P1: Parking lot near the OMV gas station, for cars and buses, subject to a fee
P2: Parking garage Mariazell, for cars and buses, subject to a fee
P3: Parking lot near the Secondary Modern School, for cars, subject to a fee
P4: Parking lot near the fire department, for cars, free of charge
P5: Parking lot near the indoor swimming pool, for cars, subject to a fee

Im Stadtkern von Mariazell gilt Werktags von 8-12 und 14-18 Uhr, sowie
Samstags 8-12 Uhr eine generelle, gebührenfreie Kurzparkzone, die auf
eine Parkdauer von 90 Minuten begrenzt ist.
Um unseren Gästen und Besuchern ein bequemes,
wettersicheres Parken zu ermöglichen, wurde 1996 eine moderne
Parkgarage mit einem teilüberdachten Parkdeck errichtet. Hier sind auch
sanitäre Anlagen und ein Buffet (derzeit geschlossen) integriert.
Nicht nur für den Tagestouristen und für
den Urlauber ist diese Garage der ideale Abstellplatz für den PKW, auch
Busse finden am Oberdeck Platz. Für Dauerparker und Pendler wurden
seitens des Betreibers der Garage, der Stadtbetriebe Mariazell
Ges.m.b.H., spezielle Tarife geschaffen.
Wie
Sie untenstehender Tabelle entnehmen können, wurden die Tarife sehr
gering gehalten, um mit dieser Garage eine attraktive Alternative zur
kostenfreien Kurzparkzone im Ortskern zu schaffen.
In ca. 5
Minuten gelangt man zu Fuß zum Hauptplatz und der Basilika, und das
Auto steht im Winter im Trockenen und im Sommer im kühlen Schatten.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Einfahrt in die Garage derzeit nur von der Bundesstraße B20 aus möglich ist!
